This includes characters, environment, items, props, obstacles, power ups, and HUD design. To create my custom assets, I used an application called Aseprite which is a pixel art editor and animator as I wanted to make the game a pixel-based game. Characters Lucia I first began with the main design of the playable character; Lucia, who serves as the "lightbringer" in the game's narrative. I wanted her design to visually convey the role she plays in the game, which is in restoring hope and illuminating the darkened land, as if she had an almost preordained mission.
